About PKS
Palm kernel shells are the highly calorific shell fractions left after the nut has been removed after crushing in the Palm Oil mill.
The combustion of PKS is considered to be carbon neutral, it is subject to feed-in tarriffs applied to renewable energies. Also, due to the presence of oil in the palm shell, the calorific power is twice the one of normal wood. This is probably why, PKS based biomass electric production projects have raised recently.

About Wood Chip
Woodchips are a medium-sized solid material made by cutting, or chipping, larger pieces of wood. The energy of combustion in a boiler is converted to electrical power. Cheaper than the pellets, they can be used in small-scale boilers or in large-scale power plants. Allowing to reduce the CO2 emissions made by diesel electrical plants, wood chips play an important role in the reduction the environment load and CO2 emissions, both in its production method (chipper) and utilization.
